Texas Bluebonnets Sunset Pano - Wildflower Landscape - This was an panoramic image we capture over a large bluebonnet field along the Colorado river in the Texas hill country as the sunset in the sky on a lovely spring day at sunset. You could see nothing but a sea of blue of Texas wildflowers over this Hill Country landscape. This was an incredible site with this super bloom of bluebonnets in the Texas hill country with nothing but blue as far as the eye could see in this dry river bed. We had been in a drought along the Colorado river and I guess the seeds were able to take hold and bloom. This river feeds into lake Travis where the drought are common but what is not are these larger field of bluebonnets. As the sun was just beginning to go down in the sky it cast a golden glow over this field of wildflowers giving them a slightly violet color cast. It was nothing if not a spectacular show of a bluebonnet landscape in the Texas hill country. Unfortunately as soon as the drought ended the flowers ended as well as the Lake filled up this lake bed. This section has never come back like this again even after the drought came back again as they always do in the Texas hill country.
